A Little Bit of Sanity and A Lot of Chaos: Dog shennanigans

Dog shennanigans

This is a "keepin' it real" post:
(Millie and Gus. This photo is hysterical. Seriously, how can you not laugh?!) Gus weighs about 5 pounds 4 oz. here and Millie is 20 lbs.

We have two dogs. Two Boston Terriers. We got them when we were living in Memphis, when we were first married. They are southern bells. Rosie and Millie. They are 7. Rosie was our first. The runt. I'm pretty sure we rescued her from a puppy mill. Millie we got from a breeder a few months after we had Rosie. Millie was named Dixie for a day, but it didn't fit. She was too rolly-polly for a Dixie. Millie fit her better.

These are about the sweetest dogs in the entire world. Okay, Rosie is. Well, she nipped at our niece once, and I cried for a couple days about it, but to give Rosie a little credit, "M" was invading her lap time...and it hasn't fazed "M" in the slightest. In fact she loves these two rats.

These two are total lap dogs. At night they climb up in bed and scrape at the blankets to get under the covers. Millie generally stays there until the morning. Rosie goes under then after a little while comes out to breathe. They do tricks for treats, they hardly get walked, they stay in our unfenced yard. Rosie doesn't like swimming but Millie dives right in. They would rather play with big dogs then with dogs their size.

Millie is a turd. She barks at everything. She eats chocolate and then pukes it up on a new rug that covers a paint stain. Hence the stained rug covering stained carpet story. And she eats out of the garbage. Case in point. Tonight while at Home Depot to get yet another stain to sample for the stairs Millie dug in our bathroom garbage. She ate a bunch of stuff out of it....womanly stuff....then proceeded to throw it up (yet more vomit in our house) ON MY FRESHLY UNCARPETED STAIRS.

And to add insult to injury, Porter pointed it out to me. "Mom, what's that stuff on your new stairs?" "Oh honey, that's just Millie puking up tampons." Seriously.

But, then she looks up at me with those darn, yep, puppy dog eyes. And hou can you be mad at her???

(This is actually Porter at 2 month...I think. He's 4 now. Millie is on the top, Rosie on the bottom.)

We got our first puppy this past August and named her Dixie. It stuck. Your little peanut looks so cute next to Millie and your family is complete with your furry "children".

They are ADORABLE! I rescued a black Pug & I wouldn't trade her for the world. Her name is Trudie & she also sleeps under the blankets, loves chocolate, and is a barking turd! I always say if I don't have a Pug, I'll have a Boston Terrier!

We have the same photos. The ones where the babies are smaller then the dogs for a few months, love those. When I met my Hubby he had a Boston Terror that makes Millie sound like a saint :0)
How's everyone feeling? Better, I hope.
Have a great day, Lynea

LOL your post cracked me up! Our old dog Sophie (a jack russel poodle mix) used to not only eat tampons but our sons poopy diapers. She lived for human waste! EWW! We unfortunatly had to put her down a year ago because she had a degenerative spine disorder that made her parilyzed...I cried SO hard! We have a golden doodle named Oscar now that is the least poop and human waste eating dog I've ever met. THANK GOD! He has no interest whatsoever! And he doesn't eat dog poop either! What more could I ask for? Dogs are the greatest...can't live without them.

I have a Boston too! His name is Ying Yang (spelled like the twins, not the symbol) ;) He's a piece of work! He snores, toots, chews on ladies undergarments, and pukes every single time he drinks too much water. I wouldn't trade him for the world! :) I feel ya girl... they're the most precious loving angels in the world!
