A Little Bit of Sanity and A Lot of Chaos: A little vanity and a chair

A little vanity and a chair

So, I've been refinishing things like a mad woman lately. It's been fantastic.

Because of that we had to hire out some work around the house. That's right. This DIY team hired out. We are total sell-outs and I'm okay with it.

We ordered 15 new doors for our entire house (thank you Home Depot for the free solid door upgrade!) think arts and crafts 3 panel...I'll show you when he's done. Well, we could do it, and we intended to, BUT, it would take us a few weeks to finish it up and I wanted it done, ummm...now. So we called a guy. He is going to do it in three days! The doors are in the garage. All his stuff is set up. He starts in the morning. That means no spray painting for me...that's okay, I've got enough work. Never fear.

I grabbed this little vanity at an estate sale for a mere $40, and they threw in the mirror. The mirror is done and sold, but this little gal, named Kate, is still available. She is divine.

(See that gorgeous chair!?! Our door guy brought it over for me. It was his, but he didn't want it anymore...umm...why? But, yes, I'll take it. I'm going to leave it like that and put a cushion of something....on it....

She is old. And gorgeous. And lovely. And beautiful.

Love.

Beautiful piece! Love that chair too. Wish I had a door guy that gave me chairs.

My door guy is my hubby. We are replacing doors too. Not solid wood but so glad to replace those flimsy stained doors. Three of which had holes in them. I dread the painting part.

Beautiful vanity! Lucky you, nobody ever offers me random free furniture. Can't wait to see what fabric you use on it. Thanks for sharing.

I LOVE Kate. Divine Kate!

And your doors....I can't wait to see your doors all over your house...it will change everything and may just make your house look brand new. I heard that can happen from such a change!

Nice to have 'a guy' who 'doesn't want 'a chair anymore'! You'll make it fabulous!

I am in love with your blog and your talent. You are doing what I wish I could be doing. Not now, not this season, but will enjoy your treasures and craftsmanship. Thanks.
