A Little Bit of Sanity and A Lot of Chaos: Farm Table.

Farm Table.

I've had this tiny little dream, nothing major, of using a farm table as a desk in our bedroom.

Last week I finally found my farm table. It was actually quite a strange situation.

There is a fantastic locally owned bakery/sandwich shop in our tiny little town. Last week I was driving on our main street and saw all of this furniture out front of the shop. Ummm...what is going on here?

So, I pulled over as quick as I could, ran inside and saw signs that the place was closing! Oh, I was so sad. We loved going there for little treats, they made the best cookies and some fantastic homemade quiche. The owner was retiring....so bummed. It broke my heart. I just HAD to have a piece of that place.

I looked around a little and then I saw it. The busing table.

I knew this was it. It belonged to the owner when she was growing up. It was perfect. And such a steal, I almost felt bad. Then I got over it because the daughter practically threw it at me.

It obviously couldn't stay that way. I mean really. I love it, but it really doesn't "go" with our decor.

So I immediately started to prime it and paint it white. Oh my, I am thrilled.

It's absolutely perfect.

The chair came from Goodwill, it's been in my garage for awhile. I painted it when I did the table and redid the entire seat cushion, and covered it quick.

The window is from a garage sale, ten bucks! The scrolly black things are from Pier 1, but I got them at Goodwill. Tags still on them! $45 each (I got two) but I got them for $2.99 each. The little milk glass vase came from GW. And the flower, from my back yard.
This is one of those finds that I will never let go of, and will probably end up with one of my kids some day. Love that.

Oh, and I'm sharing over at Primitive & Proper. 'Cause she's cool.
