I wonder how that title will come up on search engines....
Seriously. These are awesome. I got them at GW. I saw them on the cart. You know, the cart that has signs all over it that say, "Don't take items off of the cart." I took them. All of them. Right off the cart. I felt as if I was breaking the Goodwill law...but I had to have them. I didn't want anyone else taking them....Then. Then I saw 3 other people walking around with at least 4 of the small jars in their carts. 4! Greedy rats. But, I'm pretty sure I won.
Because....
These four were probably one of the greatest deals I've EVER gotten. I tell you what. It pays to get to know your GW employees. I am so not kidding. They were marked $1.99 each. Except for one. One was marked $.49. And I thought maybe I'd get to talk the check out woman down to 49 cents each, but she gave me all four for $1.99. Total. Not each. Total. I just checked ebay and the small ones are going for around $25. Fan-freaking-tastic!
They are so pretty. They make me smile. Can't wait to fill them....
What a STEAL! I'm sure the GW police are looking for you. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have ONE of these and would love to find more.
I want those! Love the color, and what score!
ReplyDeleteI just bought two, one for $2.00 and one for $6.00. Your scored big time.
ReplyDeleteI love your blue ball jars. I don't have any of the little ones. I did get 6 big ones at an auction for about $25 so I bow to you on your deal. I just wasn't about to let anyone else walk home with my jars!
ReplyDeleteI have one really old one. Any idea how to clean them? The dishwasher didn't help!

Beautiful. I have some of these jars. They were given to me by my father in law.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful jars and what a deal you got.!
ReplyDeleteGreat GW deal! I use these in my bathroom to hold cotton balls and q-tips.

Those are beautiful!! I always scan goodwill looking for blue ball jars but can never find any! I find the plain clear ones with the little lids all the time but no blue or other fancy colors! sniff sniff...I should head out today and check again! Gotta try and keep up with you!
ReplyDeleteOh, those elusive Ball jars! You lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteI never come across any and then last week I found 4 in one thrift store and 1 at GW. The 4 were .75 each, which wasn't bad - and the GW one was .49. I thought I was doing good, but your deal was even better! Yay for good deals!
Love your blog...i have a few of these jars from grandfather...they are gorgeous! I put some in my bathroom and filled them with calgon and other bath stuff. also bought 2 plant hangars at lowes for $2.98 and turned 2 of these jars into sconces to hang on my patio...they are adorable with a tea light in them!
ReplyDeleteOh I just love fruit jars! Balls, Masons, Crowns - oh I just can't get enough of them. I love yours. What a great deal!! Lucky You!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha, too funny. When I saw the post title in my blogroll, I raised an eyebrow. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove those jars! I have found some pretty decent items from GW, but none like that. I like how they say: July. 14, 1908 on the bottom. :)
I just got four of them from my local peddler's mall for $2 ea. and two of them had zinc lids. Sooo excited! I love your find!
ReplyDeletehaha, I always sneak into their carts for the "fresh" merchandise as well! Something about it seems naughty, but then I worry if I don't, I'll be missing a great deal!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about putting tealights in them too!
ReplyDeleteJane - I used a Mr. Clean scrubbing pad on mine. Worked great!
My sister is going to use them as centerpieces for their wedding. I need to find just a few more!
