Shhhh...don't tell anyone...they were $6.99 a piece...
How cute are these?
I'm just giddy because I sold all of the pieces I had up for sale on Craigslist!
And look at these:
My friend Kelly, the most amazing photographer ever (check her out over there on the sidebar) asked me to reupholster two chairs for her. She picked the most gorgeous green fabric!
I did a little pleat in the back and wanted to tie a big huge bow/sash around it, but didn't have one. Then when she came to pick them up she said the same thing about the bow! I can't wait to see them with the bow.
I also did this quick. It was super easy! And is so adorable...
This is what my living room currently looks like:
It's totally empty. Because I sold every piece of furniture I listed! I am so giddy I can hardly stand it. Now. Time to fill it up again!
But, with my hard earned money I bought myself these:
And these:
I felt that after I did all that hard work I deserved a little treat. I've had my eye on these two sets of bowls for a long time and could never justify buying them. But, in addition to all my furniture I also took an entire van of stuff to GW and that included some old mixing bowls that I just never really liked. So, in reality, I NEEDED new bowls because I don't have any now. (See how I did that? Totally justified a purchase.)
I promise to start cooking more. And mixing things more. And maybe now I need one of those fancy kitchen aide mixers that Pioneer Woman is always giving away. Seriously. I promise. Or, maybe I promise to take pictures of these pretty bowls when I get them.
I've got two awesome chairs and a hutch that need to be redone for clients. Yep. I've got them. Two people that have "ordered" items. Unbelievable. I am ecstatic. Thank you all for your words of encouragement and sharing in my excitement. It really does mean a lot to me.
Woo Hoo! Congrats on your success.
ReplyDeleteThe greatness of Craigslist once again. Yes, I am a justificator (is that a word) I can justify just about anything when the moment calls for it.
ReplyDeletehaha, you did NEED those bowls.
great work! I haven't sold anything I've re-done yet, but maybe I will do that this summer (I'm a teacher and don't work through the summer).
ReplyDeleteI love that fabric you chose on the chairs, looks great with the white paint.
So happy for you that you sold everything!!
ReplyDeleteI'm starting to sell furniture that I've redone, and I have a really hard time setting prices. What did you ask for the pieces you did (if you don't mind me asking?)
I wondered why you were always redoing furniture. I thought how crafty you were and didn't realize it was your business. Congrats on your talents and business.
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Soon you will be making more money than Mr. Tommy T. with "Kirsten's Kreations"! Get the business rockin' - maybe redoing rocking chairs!
ReplyDelete"Kongratulations!"
Great job!!! So excited for you. Isn't it rewarding to get someone's trash...make it gorgeous and then have someone else EXCITEDLY plunk down their hard earned cash for it???? I love it so much! I'm thinking about posting my armoire on Craigslist for a gigantic amount of money and just seeing if anyone is interested. lol. I don't really want to sell it but if someone was gonna give me a thousand bucks for it I'd definatly consider it. lol. By the way I own those bowls that you are wanting but in a different color...they were a wedding gift and I LOVE them so much! So colorful and cheerful and the perfect combo of sizes. I hardly ever use other bowls. Great investment! See i'll help you justify!
ReplyDeleteYou are a rockstar! And so motivating...next year, I'll be working part time (instead of full time) and I plan to accomplish 1/2 as much as you! lol
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Now, I want to sell something on Craigslist - hmmm.....
ReplyDeleteLOVE those chairs! i am dying to redo furniture for other people too, but i already have a hard time finding the time and energy to finish my own projects. and you do it with three adorable little ones running around - amazing!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!!!

ReplyDeleteCongrats, Lynea :0)
Hey lady! Ok i need you to give me motivation. I am going to recover my ugly greenish yellow craigslist chair. Its starting to smell more than musty. It smells Stank and like smoke! I'm not having it in my house like that so I have to recover it. I love the lines and don't want to get rid of it and can't pay 300.00 or so to reupholster it. Can you give me some pointers on how to do it super quick and super easy so it'll just be covered and done? Help!
ReplyDeleteI do like your uber style; in writing AND redo. The ottoman is a charmer. Good luck to you... that's so exciting!
