A Little Bit of Sanity and A Lot of Chaos: A few answered questions.

Friday, February 26, 2010

A few answered questions.

I've had a few emails about some random stuff, so I thought I would answer those questions.

1. What's on your stairs?
It's Behr deck stain in Cordovan Brown. Then dry brushed in places an exterior paint in brown. Then another coat of stain. Followed by 3 coats of poly. The risers are painted Ralph Lauren Golf Tee White. The same as my kitchen cabinets. I painted the stain on with a brush and did not wipe it off.

2. What are you selling? Basically every piece of furniture I've made in the last few months.

(These two were just finished this morning! Aren't they gorgeous!?)

Oh and the slipper chair...

3. Why are you selling all your stuff?
I decided that I do this for the thrill of the chase. (That sounds so trashy!) But, I love the thrill of picking out fabric, paint and the process of changing it. I love to make something beautiful out of something totally hideous. We don't need a bunch of stuff...so I'm going to keep finding stuff, fixing it up and selling it...hopefully keeping the prices low enough that I cover the materials and make a little money too.

4. What's your favorite peanut butter?
Okay, no one asked that, but I'm a creamy JIF girl.

Ok so if we love your stuff and want to purchase something...how do we get it to our houses? Shipping would be outrageous wouldn't it? Just curious...and I'm a creamy Jif girl too! :)

Lori - I do have craigslist, that's how I'm going to start selling....So far two down.

JIF is one f. And I like to use all caps, cause it's that good.

Kirsty, Great mind think a like a guess ;) I want to start this also. For a couple of reason. We moved into a smaller house recently and I just don't have the room. BUT I can't stop looking for stuff! I swear it's an addiction. I have stopped since we moved but I am seriously getting the itch again. I am fearful that I will start up again, have all this stuff and no one will buy it! AH!

Hey,what sold? I'm betting the striped chair with the pillow and the little blue table! But if it was a one customer purchase then the new green cushioned chairs!

I love that you're fixing things up and instead of turning your house into something worthy of that hoarders show, you're spreading the love and selling it to others!

Best of luck and I hope you find new replacements as quickly as these beauties vanish!

Kat :)

The credenza and the tufted blue ticking chair sold first!

Someone is coming today to look at the two new green chairs (which turned out fantastic!).

The ottoman is $125....it's my favorite piece. I adore that ottoman. I may cry if someone buys it, but there will be more...gotta spread the love, right Kat!

You're hilarious. My husband loves jif, too. So much, that he eats a giant jar every week. Once, I bought the store brand, and he complained.

I LOVE those new chairs! I have a similar set, but mine aren't nearly as fun as yours! Too cool!
