Here's the PB Urn and Ball:
Here's my urn:
And here's the ball:
Not too bad! This one is definitely doable. No searching for empty urns, old photo frames and finials. It's just a candlestick and a ginormous Christmas Ornament from Dollar Tree.
Easy enough!
On a side note, I looked all over Potter Barn last night and couldn't actually find these to purchase, not that I was going to buy them, I just wanted to see how much they were. Isn't that strange?
So, I will run down the prices, because some people have wondered.
The urn:
finial: $2.49 Hob Lob
plant holder: $2.99 Goodwill
frame for top: Free from Grandma T
The ball:
Candlestick: $.99 Goodwill
Ornament: $1 Dollar Tree
I used maybe a dollars worth of spray paint and glaze.
Total: round up to $8. That's it. Awesome.
Okay. Go check this out:
Kendall at Finesse Your Nest did a post about PB Inspired accessories and she posted my urn! How great is that?! I am so excited. SHE is so crafty and clever.

I like yours better! Miss you too. Do you think that's weird given that I haven't seen you in oh, um, 11 years or so? :)
ReplyDeleteSuper............congrats on the shout out!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm just in shock -- an oversized Christmas ornament??? Unbelievable -- it looks like marble! Beautifully done.
ReplyDeleteYay! Congrats to you! I loved your idea!

I just bought a TON of ornaments a couple of days ago. I can SO do this!
ReplyDeleteTurned out great!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, This is my first time to your blog, and I giggled through the urn and ball project. The styrofoam on the hand, and trying to find the dustbuster only to end up vacuuming everything in the house...I can totally relate! BTW You did a fabulous job on this project...I am enthralled with how you put these pieces together. Thanks for the post and I am definitely going to be a regular here:)
ReplyDeleteOh I knew we would see the ball before long!! I love it!! I have them in my mental to do!
ReplyDeletehad to check out the ball. It looks as great as the urn. Was it plastic to start? Did you prime it first? I always think twice 'bout plastic because paint chips so bad.
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
What a pair! It looks great on the mantle.
