The last pretzel

Today Porter gave me his last pretzel and I couldn't be happier. What kid gives away his last morsel of his favorite food to his mom?!

I called for a 4K registration packet at his elementary school. Where big kids go. Where he has the option to ride the bus. It isn't even real kindergarten. It's just pre-kindergarten. I'm freaking out. FREAKING OUT. And Jack is going to go to preschool in the fall. Gus is practically going to college in the fall, even though he can't sit up yet.... I'm freaking out. I don't want them to grow up. I really don't.

So, I had a dream the other night about writing my blog and someone stalking me and my family. Stupid tv. I'm pretty sure it's because I watched this show about 4 young girls who were killed. Stupid show. Freaked me out. I woke up thinking I should go through all my blog posts and give my kids aliases and myself one, and hubby too. But then I forgot about it later on in the day. So, if you are going to stalk me and come and find my family, don't. I won't be happy. And I'm going to keep talking about my family and my kids and me. Cause that's what I do. So, don't come get me. Okay!?!

I'm kind of in a butterfly project rut. I don't have a major project to do.... Okay, I have tons of stuff to do, but the projects I want to do have been reserved for, "To do with the hubby" because he wants to do them too. But, since rearranging the rooms, we found ourselves in need of a coffee table in our family room...I haven't found one yet. But that can be the next project.

Just so you know I'm not slacking off and napping over here, here's what the island looks like. Today I sanded it, and painted it. I only had a teensy-tiny bit of paint left, but I realized half-way through that I only wanted to do one coat, so it worked out perfectly. It's black, but it still has a little of the original wood showing through. I love it. Need to get to IKEA for my countertop.

Doesn't it look great!

  1. Yes, I was glad to hear you weren't slacking, and I think that the island is going to be fabulous. Now if you could climb out of the tent fort and finish it up, I would sure appreciate it!

Each milestone will choke you up (I remember my daughter's first winter concert, seeing her up on the risers, singing the songs she had been driving me nuts at home and.......... I cried!)

    Your island looks wonderful!
