A Little Bit of Sanity and A Lot of Chaos: I take my weekends off!

I take my weekends off!

You've all probably noticed that I don't write on the weekends. Mainly because I try to give myself some time away from the computer. We spend a lot of time on the weekends as a family and I really like to take that time away from the World Wide Web...

I really write this 'journal for the entire world to see' because I have such a crap memory. Those who know me, know it's true. I remember bits and pieces of growing up...I don't know why. My sisters claim to remember EVERYTHING. I don't want that to happen to my kids, so I document our entire lives so they can see it when they are older. And they will be forced to remember.

This weekend we took a day trip to Ikea. One of my favorite places in the world. Cheap things, fun things for the kids to do, hubby stays relatively happy if we don't spend a lot of money....

We also did some of this:

Play-doh. Does anyone else hate play-doh? I love how creative the boys get with it, but I HATE cleaning it up!

Jack and Porter painted:

And Jack painted his face. And his arms. And his belly....

Gus worked on sitting up:

A truck had a honey butter sandwich for lunch:

And we played Memory:

In honor of my crap memory. I need practice. Porter beat me. Twice.

Stay tuned tomorrow! Follower prize. But, don't get too excited and expect too much. It's just crap I've made....that I love.....

Sounds like a wonderful day!
I agree with you about the play doh. What a mess.

OOOOOOOO......I have never been to Ikea. Did you go to the Schaumburg one?

I have a sucky memory myself, so I can sympathize with you on that one. I am constantly writing lists and my 11 year old daughter laughs hysterically at some of the things I write down. Oh well, she'll understand someday (hopefully when she's much older than I am now though).

I used to play with playdoh when I was a little girl, but my daughter never really got into it.

I can't believe how big Gus is already! You have such beautiful boys Kirsty.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend! Courtesy of my wee niece, there is still aqua play doh stuck in at least one crevice of the wood floor in my family room.

: )
