Dreamy Gray...

This dresser was purchased the same day I picked up that sad little nightstand. Oh boy. Love all the curves though! No offense to those that have this, but say hello and buh-bye.

And here it is with a couple of coats of Behr Porpoise Gray...

I noticed that the pull holes are not the current standard distance apart, so I have to cover the holes and redrill. No biggie. I am also loving the pulls I got to go with this piece!

However. I attempted to paint. by hand. numbers. DID NOT WORK. It just looks stupid. Right?! Amateur. Okay. It doesn't look STUPID. Just not quite right. See. I make mistakes. Tons of them. I'm not afraid to show you that I painted right over those numbers either. Concept, good. Execution, bad....
Look at the poor number 6 on the bottom, all wonky and stuff...

So then I did vinyl numbers again. Loving how this turned out.

Porpoise Grey by Behr. I love that color. L.O.V.E.

I spray primed this one with Kilz and then rolled on the paint only with a foam roller. No brush needed. Then I sanded the edges with a piece of chicken that I cooked for supper that didn't quite turn out....or 50 grit paper....or whatever was on the garage floor. I can't remember. I scratched the fronts and edges so the white primer showed through. And those pulls! They are from H to the D.

LOVE.

Oh, and if any of you happen to go to Marshall's go into the area with the curtains and such, ours was on an end piece, and there were some gorgo drawer pulls. Can't wait to show you mine and use them! We're talking straight from Anthro's workshop...

  1. I have that same Dixie provential stuff in my little girls room and have always wanted to paint it. They turned out beautiful. Job well done.

  2. I picked up some of those knobs at Marshalls last week. The glass ones. I'm going back for more. They had quite a few different styles which were all great!
