So I got this dresser....

Dresser. $6.99. So ug.

First I primed everything. I started out thinking that I was going to paint the handles the same color as the dresser. Then I changed my mind and was going to put different handles on it. Nope, liked the original, but painted them black instead.

I stripped the top of the dresser and stained it ebony.

I painted the entire dresser heirloom white. And then took the ebony stain and rubbed it all over the dresser. I've never done this before with stain. It was a pain and I should have known better then to not wear gloves, because my hands currently look like what I imagine a vampire's fingernails would look like.

After I painted and rubbed on the stain I took a small brush and dry brushed some Behr Tropical Breeze paint in some spots.

I love it. Love, love, love it.

Let's hope someone else does too! But, maybe not....

I think I'll share this, go check out the rest:

Make it for Monday

  1. Where on earth do you find dressers for 6.99? Looks great! I did get #3 son to pick a little stool out of the trash for me last night. Haven't seen it in the light of day yet ;)

  13. Thank you Leah! That's so sweet. Now you've got me thinking - how cool would this be with the blue and the brown top, but with the black coming through on the drawers. Ooohhh.....I may have to do this one over.....

Sarah - it's all yours - we could trade - your yellow trunk, for this!
