Does your garage floor look like this?

No? Mine either....at least, not quite like this anymore. Now it looks....Well, okay, it looks about the same.

I'm almost out from under all of it. You are going to be shocked at the transformations. Shocked I tell ya.

To tide you over, take a look at this cutie-patootie that is trouble in the making.

See that leopard print thing behind him? Umm, yeah. So he picked it up at St. Vinny's yesterday and wouldn't let it go. It's a rabbit. That's right. Real rabbit. He held on to it so tight I couldn't get it out of his hands. He didn't cry about it, just held on tight. I didn't have the heart to take it away from him, although I am not afraid of fits, he just looked so cute rubbing the soft fur on his face, while I nearly vomited from the thought of him rubbing a rabbit fur on his face...I keep telling myself it's like a lucky rabbit's foot.....He hasn't let go of it since.

Oh, thanks for all the birthday wishes for Jack! He had a rockin' day and Laura - you made my day with the comment about the color orange! I was telling Tom about it, and Porter, who has wavered in favorite colors from pink to green to orange to blue said, "okay, my favorite color is orange." Hysterical.

Tranformations soon!

Attention! Attention! We have another walker in the house!

Gus is 15 months old on the 29th.

This week he started walking.

For the last few weeks he's been on the verge. Taking a few steps here and there. Moving about and realizing he can carry things in his hands, and put things in his mouth while standing up tall.

He LOVES it. Seriously. I've never seen a kid giggle so much over walking.

And of course the older boys love it and clap for him and encourage him like crazy. It is the best ting to watch.

Okay, I know these aren't the best photos, but come on, the kid is on the move!

Lemonade 25 c

So, most of the neighborhood kids have had a lemonade stand. Well, the boys had had enough. They were ready. They wanted to do one too.

Nevermind that they can't read. Or add. Or pour something for themselves. And they often get shy around strangers....Nevermind those facts. Neveryoumind.

They asked me to make them cookies to sell too.

They drank and ate their profit.

But, they made a whole dollar.

They were so proud.

Don't they look proud?

I even made them a sign. They were so excited!

But then, because it was so hot, we went inside to cool off. Jack decided to do this, again:

And I laughed. Then we ate this:

Ha! Look at that kid!

Gus is 1.

Happy Birthday Tiny G. Gus turned one on May 29th. We had a big party. You can read about it here. I know you want to.

I thought I would do a year of pictures. Just one for each month. Nothing fancy, just real life photos. With a little commentary thrown in.

There's something about his eyes....Do you see it? It's like you can see right into the depths of his soul.

newborn - he had gas. The only reason for his smile. And look at all that hair!

one month - still hair. He fell over the second I snapped this shot.

PS - the chair in the background is our favorite garage sale find - EVER - fifty bucks for a leather recliner. I bought it the weekend we moved into our very first house. I was supposed to be painting, but got sidetracked...

Chubby cheeks on that one!

two months

three months

four months - Seriously. Those eyes. I'm dying. They match that denim and the hat and sweater perfectly!

five months - Gramps was visiting. See that big scratch? Not my fault. One of the dogs took a flying leap over Tiny G's head, and didn't quite make it. He wailed.

six months - I mean really. Torturing myself with baby cuteness.

seven months

eight months - He got tubes put in this day. He rocked. We even went shopping later.

nine months - DYYYINNGGG....Don't you just want to take a bite out of his cheeks?

ten months - My fav. Look at those eyes! I didn't edit this photo at all. Can you believe it?! He's killin' me. And of course he's eating bacon. He's definitely a member of this family. They all love their meat.

eleven months - Hey mom?! I need a haircut!

twelve months. OMG. Oh.Em.Gee. Pudgy fingers, pudgy toes...you'd think he was actually on the growth chart....nope. Tiny G.

He's a dream. Love him to death and couldn't imagine our family without him. Looking at these pictures makes me want another one. Better not tell hubby.

Birthday and Baptism

Gus is one. Holy crap. I'll do a year one photo recap later this week.

We had a major gathering at our place this weekend. Family from far and wide, a bouncy house, water gun fights, tons of food, napless days, hot temps, tons of food, chocolate cupcakes, Tommy's Margaritas, Grandma Peg's dip, Margie's Texas Caviar, Margie's baked beans, Grandma Marion's buns....the list goes on.

We concluded that the weekend was a major success and it needs to happen again!

We also discovered that many of the foods that are our favorites, although they may have other "real" names, have been named after those that introduced them to the family.  Hence the list above. Does anyone else do that?

Here are some photos of the birthday boy with his first sweet treat.

In the beginning:

In the end:

In addition to the birthday, Tiny G is no longer "in Limbo", God was singing and two huge sighs of relief were heard from certain members of the peanut gallery.

Godparents. (T's Sister and BIL)
My side of the family (minus one sista). (This sista is gettin' hitched in October.)
T's parents and Grandma. (Grandma is 94! And still going strong!) (T's parents have three children, and each child has three children. Seven of which are boys. Only two girls!)

Some of us ate....

SIL, niece and my sis.
Some of us bounced....

Nephew.
Some of us lounged....

Nephew.

Some of us tried on Grandpa's glasses....

Jack.

Some of us had a water gun fight....

One of us got in trouble for having a water gun fight....

And one of us retaliated...

Then we ate and played some more.

What a fantastic weekend it was.

Gus, 11 months

Seriously?! Where does the time go? Why does it have to go so quickly? I don't like it. Can I have my baby back?

Love you Tiny G!
