Okay. I think my heart stopped beating...it may be because I just ran in 80 degrees with humidity close to 100 percent, but whatev....this is really why my heart stopped....

I mean, this girl's a pro....I'm just a farm team. (All I can think of when I try and do a baseball analogy is Field of Dreams and that movie about the girls playing baseball in the midwest with Tom Hanks and Madona....A League of Their Own, thank you google.)

Favorite Blogger Feature

Get this! Kristin over at Working Woman's Guide To Domestic Success sent me an email and said she loved me and wanted to spend the rest of her life being just like me....okay, not the rest of her life. But, she did send me a message and ask me if she could feature me on her blog. Hello?! Me?! Really?! I was shocked and thrilled and so excited. How much fun are we having?!

Just so you know...

Hey - since readership has ballooned (in a good way!) from my one follower a few months ago (Thanks sis!) to the wonderful 156 of you (as of today), I have to share a few things.

First, I want to say thanks. Thanks for following along on our journey.

And, for those newbies (Scrubs anyone?) if you haven't realized it yet, I can be a tad...dramatic. Just a tad.

And, if you've seen The Blind Side, which we went to on Saturday, you can imagine my face on Sandra Bullock. Tom says I'm just like her. Or just like Leigh Anne Tuohy. Apparently I get my way. A lot. Although I wouldn't mind looking like Sandra Bullock. Hottie.

And, I'm pretty hard on myself. All out of fun. I find blogging difficult in that sense. In my head things come out the way I would say them, but only about 4 of you have met me and know what I sound like and know where I put different tones and inflections. And tones and inflections can say a lot. My tones and inflections drip with sarcasm. Unless of course it's a very serious subject, like Diet Coke and Chocolate. No need to feel sorry for me, we've got a pretty great thing going here.

And, if you've commented on a post, check back in the comments because I will respond there. I find that the easiest way to do it. Easy for me....see all about me and getting my way.

Guest Post at The Shabby Chic Cottage

Okay, we've hit big time now folks. Gina over at The Shabby Chic Cottage emailed and begged and pleaded and bribed me (okay, not the bribery thing) to guest post a detailed description on how to make the urn and ball decorations from Pottery Barn. And I said, NO WAY. Just kidding. I said OF COURSE! I'm so excited! (Whenever I say that I think of the episode of Saved by the Bell, where Jesse is taking uppers and getting ready for a math test and a music video shoot....I'm so excited and I just can't hide it.....) But, I'm not taking uppers. Just lots and lots of Diet Coke.

PB Inspired Ball

Last night at 10:30 as I was trying to fall asleep (I don't sleep well when Tom is out of town) I figured out how to make the globe thing that goes with the Urn. Let's refresh....

Here's the PB Urn and Ball:

And here's the ball:

Not too bad! This one is definitely doable. No searching for empty urns, old photo frames and finials. It's just a candlestick and a ginormous Christmas Ornament from Dollar Tree.

Easy enough!

 

 

I received so much feedback on the urn that I think I will GIVE THEM AWAY to a lucky follower.

On a side note, I looked all over Potter Barn last night and couldn't actually find these to purchase, not that I was going to buy them, I just wanted to see how much they were. Isn't that strange?

So, I will run down the prices, because some people have wondered.
The urn:
finial: $2.49 Hob Lob
plant holder: $2.99 Goodwill
frame for top: Free from Grandma T
The ball:
Candlestick: $.99 Goodwill
Ornament: $1 Dollar Tree

I used maybe a dollars worth of spray paint and glaze.

Total: round up to $8.  That's it. Awesome.
