A funky trunk.

I found this little thing at Goodwill for $34. Pretty good price for a trunk, I think. Free is better, but I find they can get rather expensive.

I debated painting it, but in the end, I really wanted it white. So, I painted it white and did something fun with that red strip.

The red strip I painted navy and I love it! A little distressing and it makes it totally perfect, but not perfect!

That's right, that is the cowhide rug in the living room. I moved it over there and we love it there. Plus the dogs love having the furry rug in front of the sliding doors where tons of sunlight streams in for most of the day.

The boys love their treasure chest.

  1. Yes, white it is! Beautiful! Worth way more than $34 dollars now!!!

Thanks for the idea! My boys would adore having a treasure chest! We have two in the basement that I've never even thought about. I told you I don't visualize very well. Good thing you do. It helps me tremendously with squeezing out my creativity! (what kind of paint and tools did you use??)

  3. What a cute chest. I like the white color. This could be used in any room but I think it would becute in a kids room or a nice touch in a bathroom. It's always fun finding somethig neat at Goodwill!

  4. very nice! I recently bought a chest that was already painted for my family room. We're using it to store all the kids board games.
