Mom Ramblings #15

1. It never gets old to watch my boys overcome fears. It's an amazing feeling to see them do something they were afraid of and then accomplish it. I love it.

2. I hate molars in one year olds. They say (who is "they" anyway?) when infants get new teeth it's comparable to the pain of labor. Having gone through three labors, two without drugs, I know that horrific pain, and when I see my kids in that pain, I want to cry...and pump them full of large amounts of highly addictive narcotics. But I refrain, and pump them full of strawberry licorice and a tylenol/motrin cocktail. (according to directions, of course).

3. Apparently a 105.2 fever in a one year old is not THAT high and although it warrants a visit to the ER, it's really not THAT big of a deal.

4. Don't attempt to take a teething one year old, and two preschoolers with your husband to a flea market. Naughtiness will ensue. And you will have to leave early without buying anything and in tears because you couldn't look around to buy anything because you were constantly telling your 3 year old not to touch that seventy-five dollar 180 year old tonka truck.

5. I fell off my bike. With Jack in the seat on the back. He freaked. I have a huge bruise. That was fun.

6. I love when my husband comes home from a trip. When I see him it's like seeing him for the first time, over and over again. I heart my hubby.

7. My three favorite summer shows....Psych, White Collar and Friday Night Lights. I heart them.

8. My dad sent me my birthday present early! Thanks Dad! Ummm, wanna see? I wore them to the flea market. LOVE THEM!

9. My new favorite band....Mumford & Sons. It reminds me of the soundtrack to the movie "Once". They swear in a couple of songs. Not over and over again, by way of Eminem, but just in a couple spots and it is done with such great conviction. If swearing bothers you, sorry... And although I don't swear in front of my kids, my favorite swear word, is the f word, (Is it strange to have a favorite swear word?). IT was a favorite while delivering the boys. Sailor. I'm a sailor.

10. I grew up listening to Free To Be You and Me....we recently introduced it to the boys and they LOVE IT! Every time we get into the car they want to hear the "You and Me song". LOVE IT! Check it out, if you haven't yet.

11. I changed these chairs after a successful trip to IKEA. Can't wait to show you how they look now. You are going to LOVE them!

11. School is nearing..booo.

12. I think I might share too much on these ramblings.

13. I don't really care. I need to share. I over-share. I like it. You know that thing that went around FB, that was a list of 25 things about yourself...people had trouble thinking of 25. I could have shared 75. Seriously. I got nothin' to hide. Except maybe that I can still sing all the words to Vanilla Ice, "Ice, Ice Baby". Oops. Now you know. But so can my sisters, I'm sure of it. In fact, one knows all the words to every song she's ever heard. Seriously.

14. I'm about to read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie.

15. Jalepeno Chex Mix is really good.

16. Have you read a Reader's Digest? Good reading folks. Good reading. I love our subscription. (Thanks Dad!) It should be prescribed reading material. Love it. It makes me laugh and cry.

17. Done. Happy Monday.

  1. Thanks for a little more info on you. I'm a babbler so I don't mind.

Sorry for you that you didn't get to shop the market. Sorry for little guy and his incoming teeth. You both were probably in the same mood that day :)

I have done some pieces for myself and love the thrill of the hunt also:) I am in your backyard(hartland), and also stay at home with my three lovelies. I would have loved that fleamarket this weekend, we were busy although. I am soo jealous of the boots!
