So I bought this little table. Part of one of the legs was cracked. No big deal, just have to glue it on. Right, then the whole little piece came off when I was gently shoving it in my car while the kids climbed all over it. Still, just glued it with some gorilla glue. I had no idea what I was going to do with it....
But here's what I decided. First, paint it blue. Second, distress it, a little.
Next, glaze, glaze, glaze.
Then, take a picture of the pretty handle, but be just a tish too far away to actually see it...
This is better:Finally, put your new, pretty cake stand and cloche with some oranges on top and wait for one of the kids to hit their head on it, break it, or eat all the oranges....
Lovely.
Update: Lots of questions about what color the blue is. It's 'Tropical Breeze' by Behr, in satin.

That is beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Even with the gluing you got a great deal for $6.99! I'm overdue for a visit to Goodwill, so I'm curious to see what they might have now after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteIn my house it would be, "CRASH!" one of the Dogs just skidded into it. :)
Really great job on this! I love both of your projects.

Ok, I'm totally enjoying blue painted furniture right now, and the orange is great against the blue too!
ReplyDeleteIronically enough, I'm about to re-do our living room in Blue and Orange, with a tad of zebra thrown in for good measure. :) Check it out:

Beautiful Redo!
ReplyDeletereally nice! I love the pop of color with Oranges!
ReplyDeleteYep it would be broke or eaten at my house too!! I love the look though! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove it- and yeah my kids would hit it first while they were running through the house after I told them not too. Then oranges would go running, glass would smash to the floor and then they'd look back with evil smiles and say - sorry mom.
ReplyDeleteahhh kids.

Very pretty! I'd love to know what shade of blue that is. I have a TV stand that I think is calling out to me to paint it that color...

ReplyDeleteAmy
Blue and glaze, the perfect combo. I love it!
ReplyDeleteCute table, love the color!
ReplyDeleteI love the color! When you paint furniture like that, do you sand? And what kind of paint? Did you brush on or spray paint?
ReplyDeleteJennifer - first, I just went to your site and you guys are too cute! I wish I could tell you I am very structured with my painting. But I'm not. I don't have enough time to be. Some things I will sand if it is really rough, but not much. I use Behr paint mostly in Satin. I may poly some stuff, if I think it needs it. I rolled this on the top with a tiny foam roller and then brushed the rest on with a crafting paint brush - I know, super fancy and professional....
ReplyDeleteLove the table, love the paint color, love the glaze. Everything looks so great! Well done!
