Picnic

Yes, I did it. I fed my boys PB & J sandwiches and goldfish for dinner and we sat on the kitchen floor. We had two showings tonight and between the first one and the second one, we ate sandwiches while having a "picnic". I didn't want to get the dining room dirty! Kristin King would be so embarrassed for me, and I know my mom would laugh at me.

We're having a party with many of my sorority sisters and their families on Sunday. Can't wait to see everyone!

That's all for now.

Jack

Just thought this was a cute picture of Jack. I think I look old. The boys are both getting tubes put in on Saturday. Hope this cures the constant ear infections. Jack's had 10 since he turned 6 months and Porter has had 6 this season. Not a fun thing at all. Was hoping to get two for the price of one. Haven't heard back from the insurance company regarding that one.

We did it!

Although this blog is generally about the boys, I just had to post these pictures from the race. Sara and I ran the half marathon and Lou did the 5K. We all finished! Although none of us set a world record, we are pretty proud that we finished. And Lou, well she's proud that she ran all 3 miles! Way to go Lou!

Here we are before the race, and here we are after. The after picture was taken just seconds after I threw up in one of the many strategically placed garbage cans around the dome. It felt like I was pregnant all over again! To all those who are thinking about running long distances - do not eat the Quench gum, do not try to suck on a jolly rancher, and do not, whatever you do forget to charge your iPod! Although I said I didn't need to do it again, here I sit thinking about training for the Fargo Half next year, after both sisters said they would do it. I mean really, I got a cool shirt and a medal! Plus, I had a cheering section along the way. Also in the back of my mind is getting pregnant so I don't have to do it!!! Tom wasn't to keen on that idea.

A whole new world of words

Porter has found the English Language. Yesterday he was holding a container of vaseline (which by the way always reminds me of my grandma Peg), and he said, "Mom, lipstick for my butt." So funny. I'm sure someone will be horrified that he said the word butt, but I don't care, we're working on basics here!

Last weekend we went to the cabin and saw Pop-pop Terry and Grandma Margie. This photo was taken on Saturday at a great little 1.5 mile trail that we hiked. Porter loves going up there and could hardly stand leaving. This weekend we are on our way to Fargo to run the half marathon with Sara and Lou and clean out Dad's supply of Fiestaware.

Still haven't sold the house - we will bury St. Joseph when we get the statue from Fargo!

We found out that Hospice of the Red River Valley will be unable to continue to put on Ride the Red in Fargo. Tom and I have decided that during September of every year we will continue to ride our bike along the river. We will also be donating money to Hospice during the month of September. If anyone is interested in joining us - feel free! The more the merrier.

That's all for now.
