It looks fantastic and I was so excited about it. Until I started on the drawers. The are bubbling and crackling like crazy! Nothing I can't fix or make look like I did it on purpose, but come on! Enough with the trouble already!Kirstyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09058972568291048654noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908304119735110392.post-87937329236131729722010-05-03T19:45:44.654-05:002010-05-03T19:45:44.654-05:00I think it will still be gorgeous white! Or maybe take the top off & buy a big slab of wood and make a new top for it. Anyway you slice it - it will be a sweet desk when you are done with it :)Anniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10422211235427449216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908304119735110392.post-85556475651432068122010-05-03T15:56:46.443-05:002010-05-03T15:56:46.443-05:00have you ever used chemical stripper? My father was a painter and he gave me one years ago. Works great! (I am not affiliated with this company)

http://www.paintinganddecoratingconcourse.com/articles/Woodgraining-Tool-Rocker.html

If not and it has just sanded unevenly you could try to strip the top down to the lower level and then stain.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11687657631522196009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908304119735110392.post-30810201042696955262010-05-03T13:01:13.047-05:002010-05-03T13:01:13.047-05:00What if you painted the top light brown then used ...What if you painted the top light brown then used some gel stain on top of it to mimic wood? I wasn't sure what you used but I have heard, ok I haven't used it myself, that it lays more on top of the wood than being absorbed into the wood. I know, Here I am suggesting something I haven't used! But I have seen some pretty amazing results with the gel stain, especially in the darker ebony colors. I love the detail on the front of the desk drawers!Anita @ GoingALittleCoastalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02601157532080826275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908304119735110392.post-81836725603275031502010-05-03T12:15:18.882-05:002010-05-03T12:15:18.882-05:00Oh how sad, BUT it will look FAB white! :)Oh how sad, BUT it will look FAB white! :)Carry Gracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17689613679275551210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7908304119735110392.post-23028180397875647622010-05-03T12:13:24.242-05:002010-05-03T12:13:24.242-05:00I think the white will look great too! We have an eat-in kitchen, so we really needed to "up" the usable space factor in the dining room. Voila!
