A Little Bit of Sanity and A Lot of Chaos: April 2008

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

So, last night I lost it and I'm completely okay with admitting it. Trying to sell our house, Porter being 2, and Jack being allergic to yet another antibiotic I was quite ready to throw in the towel. In fact, Tom came home early just to help me breathe! STOP, CALM DOWN, and THINK, that's what I tell the kids at school!

I always thought that being a mom, and a working one, would be hard but great. I still do, don't get me wrong, but, when kids hit you at school and run away from you and then you come home and your two year old hits you and says, "NOOOOO MOOOOMMMMM, STOOOPPPP MOOOMMMMM." And your one year old is screaming for no apparent reason it doesn't feel so great! If it wasn't for Jack screaming every time I set him down, I would have laughed at Porter. It's hard not to when he clenches his fists and teeth and tries to assert himself. Anyone else have any good stories about that?

Porter's vocabulary has really grown in the past few weeks - yesterday he said - "Punkin head, punkin head, where's punkin head?" Wanting to know where his Halloween bucket was! It was hilarious! And of course, Jack is practicing his words - I told him to say "Mama" and of course he said, "Dada"! Not fair.

Addictions

Tom says that I am always connected. And I will finally admit that he is right on one issue. I am totally addicted to the world wide web. LOVE IT. Just got set up on Facebook and I love connecting to all of my friends! It's so fun. What a great way to communicate. I am not really sure how I would do anything these days. I look up information constantly!!!

Thank you to the McKane's for the beautiful pink blanket that Jack attached himself to while we were having dinner at their house. It has become his favorite, and I know I shouldn't hide it from the world that my son loves a pink blanket, but when he takes it outside, I want to cover it up with another blanket!

Backyard Shenanigans

I took some pictures with the computer (I know, very professional) outside today and thought I would share them. It's about to rain, but both Porter and Jack could care less. Jack loves eating sand and Porter loves to drive his trucks in the sand box. The dogs are thoroughly enjoying the nice weather.

The rumors are true

Yes, everyone the rumors are true. (Lindsay B, not those rumors, hold your horses) Our house is for sale because we are moving to Milwaukee. Tom and I are pretty excited for the change, although we are really going to miss our friends here in Minneapolis, and we are going to miss our neighborhood, especially the splash pad down the street!

We've had lots of showings on the house, so everyone cross your fingers that the right buyer finds us.

Here is a picture of Jack eating his birthday cupcake. He, like Porter and I, has a definite sweet tooth.
